My car broke-down, why do I have to pay the lender?

When you purchase a used motor vehicle with financing, the lender has no involvement with determining the condition of the vehicle.  That is your solitary responsibility.  Therefore, if it subsequently develops mechanical issues that you believe are not worth repairing this does not serve negate your obligation to pay them the remaining balance due on the loan.  If that does not occur, then they can pursue you in collections.
